Stephen Riesen is a 24 year old Vocal Coach working toward his Master’s Degree in Voice Performance at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Stephen is an avid believer in the Italianate Bel Canto style through all styles of singing, including contemporary styles, like Jazz, with a secondary focus in Verismo singing. Legato and smooth connected phrases will be the main idea. He uses personal understanding and psychological methods to encourage the student to bring out their most authentic sound, while using repertoire that encourages growth and development vocally and mentally. He additionally has 10 years of Piano experience and many performances under his belt.
